are kind of in suspended animation until speaker boehner acts on this bill today but i think one of the big problems you face is that once he does send -- get this through, if he does get it through, it's going to be very hard to get any of his republicans to vote for the real compromise in a day or two or three. >> reporter: well, that's exactly right. both of your points right. first of all there are no negotiations going on in that compromise right now because all the focus is getting this passed in the house. speaker boehner isn't exactly taking calls from democrats but trying to get his own republicans in line. once he does this, this is going to be very difficult for him to get -- to go any further by way of compromise. if there is a compromise it's going to take a lot of democrats to pass it in the house. >> a lot of democrat, that's exactly right. key market openings sunday night, the next big deadline to watch for, as well. >> that's right. >> the asian market. >> elizabeth, this is just so uncertain going into the final weekend. >> well, and certainly the public is starting to los

.d also a song >> we've got another beautiful day at central park. another big crowd gathering. can't wait to get to that but a lot of news so right to that collision on the taxiway in boston last night. hundreds of passengers evacuated after the wing of a delta jumbo jet clipped the tail of another jet just months after a similar collision here in new york and abc's lisa stark is tracking this overnight. good morning, lisa. >> reporter: well, it was two delta flights, both loaded with fuel ready for takeoff. one rams into the other. it could have been much worse. this photo taken from inside the 767 clearly shows the damage. the wing tip of the jumbo jet sliced apart. the tail of the regional plane badly mangled. >> people were freaking out. the girl next to me was right by the wing crying and trying to jump on the emergency exit for a little bit. >> everybody said, what happened? >> reporter: it was still light out, around 7:30 last night when the planes collided. the regional jet apparently turned on to a taxiway perpendicular to the taxiway that the 767 was traveling on. the delta 767

on her tax forms. that's not going to be the big problem. the big problem, when you start lying to the prosecutors about what happened in this incident, i don't see how they can move forward. >> robin sax, i want to bring you in. do you agree with dan and think this case can move towards a dismissal now? >> well, there is no choice, unfortunately, but this case to move towards dismissal. the problem is that this case stinks all around. while this victim did lie, and i agree with dan completely that the fact that there may have been lies that were about applications and on asylum, but when it becomes about the crime itself, it's a problem, but i blame the prosecutors for not building a rapport to get this information out from the beginning. the lack of transparency about the relationship between the third in command in the office with the defense is also a problem. something stinks in this case. it doesn't change the fact that this guy has three prior victims, and now this person is also claiming the same sort of sexual abuse, it's a shame for victims everywhere. >> robin, as a p

the debt ceiling and republicans are saying that there's not just enough time to work out a big deal. there's a heightened sense of urgency in washington to come up with a deal to raise the nation's credit limit. lawmakers are at a standoff over how to tackle the deficit and prevent the nation from defaulting on it debt. the major sticking point- taxes. president obama would cut the deficit by $4 trillion. to do that the president and the democrats are call for some tax increases. by closing tax loopholes for some businesses. a nonstarter for republicans. >> we're not going to raise taxes in the middle of this horrible economic situation. >> reporter: president obama told lawmakers last night he's prepared to put social security on the table but some democratic lawmakers say no way. >> house democrats aren't supporting any cuts or benefits for social security or medicare. >> reporter: warning of dire consequences of what would happen if it reaches the debt ceiling. president obama will hold a press conference later this morning and will once again meet with congressional leaders. officials
